Pipe Recovery Systems, Inc. (PRS), was founded by the late Edmond D. Chammas in 1980 to supply chemical cutters for cutting coiled tubing, regular tubing, casing and drill pipe to the wireline service companies worldwide. PRS is based in Houston, Texas and is home of “The Original Chemical Cutter.” The company holds many patents registered worldwide and is the innovator of several tools and methods used by its customers around the globe.

From its humble beginning, the company strived on producing innovative tools with quality, reliability and an uncompromised commitment to serve its customers. From the mountains of Russia to the jungle of Peru, and from the desert of Saudi Arabia to the plains of Alaska, and anywhere in between, every wireline service company depended on PRS for help in securing the right Chemical Cutter for any specific well application.

Edmond Chammas, (or Eddie, as he was known amongst his peers), was always a step ahead. His innovative work earned him a reputation on which he built his success. PRS did not need to engage in marketing campaigns or many sales initiatives because its customers spread their success stories with the PRS Chemical Cutter around the globe.

Upon Eddie’s passing, in June of 2007, after a draining battle with cancer, the company coasted for years strictly on the momentum he had left behind. Market conditions have since changed and as a result new challenges have to be overcome in order to maintain the growth of the company. Eddie’s estate, his wife and son, finally managed with the help of devoted friends and industry leaders to put in place a new management at PRS capable of continuing the legacy Eddie left behind.

Today PRS has a new leader poised to take the company to the next level. The solid foundations of a 30 years old company are no doubt an asset to be capitalized. PRS has enjoyed long lasting relationships not only with its customers but also with its suppliers many of whom owe much of their success to the work they did with PRS. Under its new leadership PRS will soar into the future. There are many projects being laid out all designed with the customer in mind.

PRS will maintain its edge in the market by continuing to supply the best Chemical Cutter, and by engaging in an aggressive research and development program. PRS intends to further improve the Chemical Cutter and develop new complimentary products to enhance its value added to its customers. PRS will also develop its worldwide distribution network to shorten the delivery time to its customers around the globe.

As PRS celebrates its 30th anniversary in business, it is busily planning for the next 30 years. The heir to the throne is eagerly looking forward to one day running the same company his dad founded.
